Joshua Appel
Joshua Appel has led a double-career life as both college professor and pastoral assistant/pastor for 16 years, a happy coincidence of his passion for the educational nature of pastoral care and the pastoral nature of education. His own education was fairly non-traditional: home educated, joined the Audubon society at aged 10, ministered to juvenile delinquents while still a teenager, bits of grad school before college, and later a B.A. in Liberal Arts and M.A. in Christian Thought. He is an avid audiophile, lover of music & food & wine, father of six, husband of Sara, and currently serves as a Fellow of Humanities at New Saint Andrews College and Pastor at Trinity Reformed Church.
Ryan Handermann
Ryan Handermann has been teaching Latin and Humanities for 8 years. He taught four years at an ACCS school, three years at White Horse Hall co-op, two years online with the Davenant Latin Institute and others. He has taught a wide variety of students, ranging from rambunctious kindergarteners, to recovering drug addicts, to seminary professors (those are the easy students). He also serves as a pastoral assistant at Trinity Reformed Church and has a beautiful wife and four excitable children. He is extremely grateful to his parents for homeschooling him back in North Carolina, and his high school co-op teachers who inspired him to love people and pursue learning. He has a B.A and M.A. from New Saint Andrews College.
Levi Law
Levi Law was born in Glenwood Springs, Colorado where he grew up drawing and painting the mountains around him. He graduated from New Saint Andrews College in 2019 and now works as a graphic designer at Emsi. Levi does freelance illustration, portrait art, and fine art painting in his spare time. He illustrated a book “Digging in the Dark: Tales from the Mines of Carbondale and Beyond” in 2018 and has been teaching art at White Horse Hall since 2017. Levi also enjoys cooking (and eating), hiking, the color blue, traveling, and going on adventures with his wife, Eliza, and baby son, Jethro.
